It is a valid question, and one worth answering. A while ago an insurance body that mostly represents the house insurance companies released a report saying (surprise, surprise) that it is better to insure your mobile phone on your ... house insurance!

Mobile phones that scream when stolen

When your mobile phone is lost or stolen, imagine if you could notify the networks and they could instantly disbale the phone, implode the address book (contacts) so the thief could not see them, the phone was completely wiped clean, and the mobile phone just SCREAMED a loud siren at the thief?

That is exactly what is now available.

Unfortunately, it is pricey. It is just under £200 per year, which puts it in the pracket of business users only.

Which is unfortunate, because it is a great idea. I predict that before long, there will be a copycat version, that is much cheaper. Unless there is a watertight patent on the concept of a sceaming lost phone, which would be a great shame becuase it is otherwise a ver useful idea.
